All praise is due to Allah, and may His blessings and peace be upon His beloved messenger Muhammad ﷺ, his family, his companions, and all those who follow him.

Ask the people of knowledge if you do not know” (16:43)

Our Heritage

Turath Publishing, whose name means “Heritage” in Arabic, was established in 1997 in South London as a continuation of Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ahmad Batha Bardoli's (1920-2013) lifelong dedication to Islamic scholarship and education. Inspired by the guidance and encouragement of Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, one of the world's most respected Islamic scholars, the publishing house began its journey with an ambitious five-year project to translate and publish the Muwatta of Imam Mohammed, and has since, by the grace of Allah, developed a catalog of over 60 titles. Founded by Shaykh Batha's youngest son Yahya, the publishing house maintains its founder's father's legacy of spreading authentic Islamic knowledge, focusing on high-quality translations of classical works, contemporary authored pieces, and previously unpublished manuscripts.

Our Mission

At the heart of Turath's mission is our dedication to publishing high-quality translations of works on the Islamic faith. We work closely with scholars worldwide to commission translations that maintain the depth and nuance of the original texts. Our commitment extends to preserving and publishing previously unpublished manuscripts, ensuring that valuable Islamic knowledge reaches both academic researchers and the general readership. Through our work, we aim to promote a deeper understanding of traditional Islamic scholarship while making this knowledge accessible to all seeking to learn.
